Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive (CBRNE) Calibration Support Develop unique calibration solutions for instrumentation through innovative research and development based on real world needs. The project ensures accurate, precise, reliable metrology and calibration traceable to NIST with strong consideration for cost effectiveness and commercialization. Phase 1: (June 1, 2008 through October 1, 2008)
2
Rationale There is a need to develop advanced instrumentation standards for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive detection equipment. The development of calibration standards for the detection of CBRNE will lead to more robust, reliable, and sensitive detection systems for Homeland Security and military uses. This work will improve the false-negative alarm rate, and build confidence in the user community for the use of these advanced detection systems.
