Restoration and 18th Century Satire – Unit Review
Unit Test – Many of you did not do well on the Restoration Unit test. I will give you an opportunity to take a similar test. This test will not replace the score of the original test but will give you an opportunity to show your understanding of the material. I will have the test available starting March 4th and you will need to take it by March 11th. If you received a score of 21 or better you will not have this option.

Commentary What is commentary
Writer’s opinion, interpretation, insight, analysis, personal response, evaluation or reflection on evidence. Commentary is the writer’s comment on a point Questions to ask: 1. Why did I choose this particular quote? Why are they SIGNIFICANT? 2. What is the author’s PURPOSE in presenting the reader with these quotes? 3. How/why are these quotes good examples of my major? Why are they IMPORTANT? 4. What EFFECT do these particular quotes have on the reader? 5. What SUGGESTION do these quotes make about a character or event?

For Next Class Need to finish Romantic historical background
Regular Seniors: Independent Novel Projects due In a novel the author develops characters that are multidimensional and have depth to their characterization (peculiar quality of a person or thing; typical; distinctive) whether it is the protagonist or a lesser character. In a four paragraph expository essay discuss one of the characters in your novel as they relate to humanity. Example Thesis: The character __________ has two prominent characteristics _____________and _________________ which relate to humanity.
