Luke 1:37 Nothing is Impossible with God

 To say nothing is impossible with God, there are three important things needed:  You must BELIEVE Him  You must TRUST Him  You must have FAITH in Him  Most people have hope, but hope is not enough. You won’t know if it will happen, but you hope it happens. If you are going to say Nothing is Impossible with God, then you must have FAITH in the hope that He will make it happen. You may not know how, when, or where, but you know that HE will! Nothing is Impossible with God

 Some examples in the Bible where God proved that nothing was impossible through Him.  Parting of the Red Sea  Creation  Noah’s Ark / Flood]  Sarah with child at an older age  Jesus – Conquering Death  Paul’s conversion to a Believer  Tonight’s Focus:  David and Goliath  Daniel in the Lion’s Den Nothing is Impossible with God

 Goliath:  Over 9 ft tall  Fought in wars/battles since his youth  Coat of armor weighed over 125 pounds Nothing is Impossible with God  David:  Shepard boy  Small in stature  Fought lions and bears to save his sheep  Sling shot 1 Samuel 17

 Man’s Wisdom:  You are just a boy………  You need armor……  Where’s your helmet and sword???  God’s Wisdom:  Trust, Faith, Believe in Him  Sling shot (do what you know to do)  1 Samuel 17:37 The Lord who rescued me form the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of the Philistine. Saul said to David. “Go and the Lord be with you. Nothing is Impossible with God

 Proverbs 28:26 He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe.  1 Corinthians 1:19 I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.  Was Saul probably frustrated with David for not using the armor and a sword?  Saul likely thought that David would be killed by Goliath, after all Goliath was undefeated at this point.  1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” Nothing is Impossible with God

 SKIT:  1 Samuel 17:38-40  1 Samuel 17:42-51  Notice what David said to Goliath in verse 45  David knew that God was on his side and that nothing was impossible with his God!  Verse 51…..David defeats Goliath…  The Philistines had placed their Faith and Trust in man  Deuteronomy 28:7 The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction, but flee from you in seven. Nothing is Impossible with God

 Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you will prosper…….  David had weapons formed against him. There was Goliath with a sword, spear, javelin, and a whole army behind him. But God showed up! None of these things overtook David and he caused ALL of his enemies to flee.  Psalms 44:3-8 Nothing is Impossible with God

 Daniel 6:14-16  King Darius, in my opinion, spoke death when he declared and signed a decree that whoever prayed to anyone but him would be thrown into the lion’s den.  Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat of its fruit.  At the time, the king didn’t think about the impact his decree would have. After all, the king thought highly of Daniel, he liked Daniel. That’s why it’s so important that we take every thought and word captive to make it obedient to Christ. ( 2 Corinthians 10:5 ) Nothing is Impossible with God

 After having Daniel thrown into the lion’s den, the king, not knowingly, spoke life over Daniel. He said in Daniel 6:16, “May your God whom you serve continually rescue you.”  Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him who have been called according to His purpose.  Did Daniel love God?  Daniel got down on his knees 3 times a day to give thanks to God. Daniel was saved because he believed and trusted God, he had faith God was going to be with him and protect him. Nothing is Impossible with God

 Daniel 6:19-22  In verse 22 it also states that Daniel said, “Nor have I ever done wrong before you, O King”. Not only did Daniel worship and believe God, he also submitted to authority. He obeyed and respected the king, even though God was first in his life and God honors that.  Romans 13:1-3  Daniel was obeying God’s Word and because Daniel obeyed God’s Word, he was saved. Nothing is impossible with God, but we must be doing/obeying His Word. Nothing is Impossible with God

 Daniel 6:23-24  The men who falsely accused Daniel were thrown into the lion’s den with their wives and children.  Proverbs 17:13 If a man pays back evil for good, evil will never leave his house.  Galatians 6:7 You reap what you sow.  These men planned deception and evil and it was returned to them and their families. Evil took over their house.  If you sow death and destruction, you are going to get it back. God’s Word says this. Nothing is Impossible with God

 It is important to guard your heart……  Proverbs 4:23 Above else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. (your thoughts, words, and actions)  Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure, who can understand it? Nothing is Impossible with God

 Ultimately, we can see that nothing is impossible with God. He will protect, He will save/deliver, He will guard, He will show up. All we have to do is seek Him.  Matthew 6:33-34  Devote yourselves to prayer and God’s Word. Have faith, trust, and believe in Him and nothing will be impossible.  Luke 1:37 Nothing is Impossible with God
