Rules and Expectations for the rest of this semester for Introductory Spanish Focus, pay attention in class, listen to teacher’s instructions. Be prepared (bring I pads and coloring pencils) Be on time, pace yourself and do assignments on time. Have a good time learning about the culture of Spanish speaking people. Be kind and respectful to your teacher and classmates. Your ATTITUDE will make a difference. I will give you 2 warnings if you are not where you need to be. On 3 rd warning you go 5 minutes out of the classroom. reflect why you are there and decide how you can change your behavior and cooperate in class. On 4 warning go see Mr. Crosson and a note will go home.

Objectives/ Objetivos Review class expectations. Start Research on Country’s history: * SPAIN NEXT SLIDE EXPLAINS MORE Write who lived before in country anciently before the Spaniards arrived? Name a tribe, city. Find a video that explains more about it. Write name of link and name of tribe and something you learned about it. When did it become independent? Is there anything particularly unique about the country’s history? Name of their Liberator_____________ Today’s government, name of President COAT OF ARMS COLORED ACTIVITY. There are historical facts in every Coat of arms. On a page write a Title of the place and DRAW A BIG, COLORFUL COAT OF ARMS of the country or one of the cities you have been researching about. At lower side of same page, write a paragraph describing symbols Find out the meaning of different symbols. Country Historical Research. SPAIN IN RED * Write who lived before in country anciently before the Spaniards arrived in Latin America? Name a tribe, city. If your country is Spain, name one of the original groups that ruled the Iberian Peninsula for centuries before Queen Isabel and Ferdinand. Ex: the Moors, the Jews and the Romans. Name the regions where this group lived, what costumes it had, what impact it had in Spain etc. Find a video that explains more about it. Write name of link and name of tribe and something you learned about it. When did it become independent? Is there anything particularly unique about the country’s history? For Spain you can talk briefly about the expulsion of the Moors or the Jews. Or give brief information about the Catholic Queen and King Isabel and Ferdinand of Spain and their reign around 1492. Contents: Geographical features of the country (show on map) ocean or oceans that surround the country 2 main rivers and 2 main mountain(s) (volcano) 3 main cities including the capitol weather A picture of the flag or an outline of the country on the cover of the brochure with the following information: Population of the country, currency and language/s. Country’s exports. Some historical information about the country (When did it become independent? Is there anything particularly unique about the country’s history?) Homework for Thursday April 16, 2015 Look power point daily to know where class is in Project. HAVE FUN DOING YOUR RESEARCH AND COLORING. If you have miss out school catch up by asking Ms. Luciano what has been done the previous day. If you have not taken summative 3. Make arrangements to take it with Ms. Luciano.
