Definition: ◦ Is the capstone project for the Pre-engineering strand of the Academy, ◦ Must be a meaningful project and provides a deliverable product upon completion, ◦ Cannot be a project previously started or completed, ◦ Must be pre-approved,

The Senior Design Project Proposal must include the following items: ◦ Title Page ◦ Problem Statement ◦ Pre-engineering Academy sequence targeted ◦ Project Objectives How does this project benefit the community? ◦ Proposed Plan of Action ◦ Project Deliverables ◦ Project Budget ◦ Time Table ◦ Signature area for advisor and team members

Maximum length- 2- 3 pages, ◦ Must cover all the topics required within the proposal, Due Date ◦ Declaration of Project by September 17, 2010, ◦ All Project Proposals are due on or before October 1, 2010, ◦ Review and approval process to be completed by October 7, 2010, Project cannot be started until proposal is reviewed and approved.

Must be developed based on a specific academy pre-engineering sequence that the student has completed,

Examples ◦ Electronics Design a device that will convert digital tv signals to analog signals using a power source other than traditional home electric, so that old analog televisions can be used during loss of power scenarios. ◦ Architectural Design Create a design to remodel a bathroom to allow access for the physically challenged, ◦ Modeling and Simulation Create a IPhone, or Droid app that will provide the user with access to local community services, ◦ Robotics Create an assistive device for a disabled individual that improves their way of life.
