2007.03.20RT-LAB Electrical Applications 3 Introduction Embedded System mode An embedded system is where hardware and software combine to form a component of a larger machine. With RT-Lab, this mode allows the user to store the model onto a stand-alone system, such as one using the PC/104 format. Note: This function is only available for QNX and Neutrino platforms.

2007.03.20RT-LAB Electrical Applications 5 Installing the target component of RT-LAB Embedded system on QNX Open another "My Computer" window. In the address field, enter ftp://user:pass@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ where user is a valid username for your QNX system (default is "ntuser"), pass is the corresponding password (default is "ntuser") and xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is your compilation node’s IP address.

2007.03.20RT-LAB Electrical Applications 6 Installing the target component of RT-LAB Embedded system on QNX 1-Copy the RT-LAB installer script opinstall. Do this by dragging and dropping from one Window to the other. 2-Copy the RT-LAB archive file rt-lab_e.tgz (in C:\Opal-rt\RT- LAB8.x.x\target\qnx ). 3-Connect to the QNX node by telnet Start -> Run -> "telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" and login as user “root” 4-Execute the following commands to install the archive: # cd / # textto –l /home/ntuser/opinstall # chmod 775 /home/ntuser/opinstall # /home/ntuser/opinstall /home/ntuser/rt-lab_e.tgz # rm –f /home/ntuser/ rt-lab_e.tgz
