13 Vocabulary Word : Tuesday STAMEN VS PISTIL  Stamen is male reproductive organ of a flower that produces pollen.  Sentence. The stamen is the organ inside the flower that makes pollen, tiny yellow particles the plant needs to reproduce

14 VOCABULARY : PISTIL  Pistil is the female reproductive organ of a flower that can be fertilized by pollen

15 NEW CONCEPT : POLLINATION  the transfer of pollen from the stamen (male) to the stigma (female)  Pollen can be transported from the stamen of one flower by other living organisms or the wind to the stigma of another flower. This is how they reproduce.

16 VOCABULARY WORD : THURSDAY PETAL VS. SEPAL  Petal - The parts of a flower that are often conspicuously colored.  Sepal - The outer parts of the flower (often green and leaf-like) that enclose a developing bud.

17 New Concept : Thursday  POLLEN is a yellow powder produced by the stamen of a flower; pollen fertilizes the pistil of another flower (related word: pollinate)  Anther is the part of a flower's stamen that contains the pollen ; in a flower, anthers produce pollen
