Children’s rights and obligations I have the right to be defended and treated as a child in court I must repare the damages that I have caused I have the right to attend school until I find a job I must work with seriouseness and do all my homeworks. I must regularly attend school until the age of 18. I have the right to drink and to eat well. I must not waist neither water nor food I have the right to leave in a comfortable place, clean and secured I respect the places where I go. I avoid using polluting products and I must not leave dirt every where.

Children’s rights and obligations I have the right to express my ideas and to be different I must respect different cultures, races, thoughts and identities. I can express my idea by respecting that of others. I must speak with respect I have the right to choose my own religion I must respect people and their religion

Children’s rights and obligations I have the right to take treatment I must take care of my health: Not to smoke Eat well I must not put myself into unnecessary danger I have the right to have my personal belongings (Has it happened that parents enter your room and search in your personnal belongings?) I must take care of my belongings

Children’s rights and obligations I have the right to be protected if I am badly treated I must not go to the police when I am occasionally beaten One can not have me to work and take or seize my money or my salary I have as obligation to give a helping hand at home. I have the right to play Playing does not mean to destroy, worry, steal, make noise. It is to learn the ways of life I have the right to have a name and a nationality I must have a birth certificate and take care of my identification papers (Do your children have birth certificate? Who’s name is as father? What happened? Share your experience with us)

Reality: Gap between the convention and reality in our context What are the causes? what lessons can we learn concerning the following aspect: The liberty of opinion for children Discrimination (of girls) Child labour Teenage marriages No Schooling

Conclusion We must listen to and take into consideration children’s opinion We must take care of their well-being We must make children’s right known in the community
