2004: Charley, Frances, Ivan & Jeanne Charley: 1 st Hurricane since Donna (1960) to hit Orlando Frances: 3 ½ days of continuous TV coverage at WFTV Ivan: Longest sustained Cat. 5 Storm on Record Jeanne: Exact same landfall as Frances (Sewall’s Point) Farthest North a Major Hurricane has impacted the Coast of Florida.

2005: Dennis, Katrina and Rita (so far…) Dennis: Strongest Hurricane So Early in Season, 150mph Hit Cuba as a Cat. 4, then landed just East of Pensacola as a Cat. 3 (Winds 115-120mph). Katrina: Largest Natural Disaster in U.S. History. Landed as a Cat. 4 (Winds 140mph) in SE Louisiana. Death toll still being determined (1,100+). Damage $200 Billion + Rita: Landfall earlier today. 6 th Major Hurricane to hit the U.S. in the past 13 ½ months. Jeanne: Exact same landfall as Frances (Sewall’s Point) Farthest North a Major Hurricane has impacted the Coast of Florida.

New Orleans Miami 10pm, Saturday Aug 27th 32 hours from Landfall: Hurricane WARNINGS Posted for LA, MS, AL including New Orleans. On Sunday August 28 th, Katrina gains Category 5 status, winds of 175mph
