4 SCENARIO THE APPRAISAL INTERVIEW EMPLOYER’S ROLE You are the supervisor of the Reception staff of the Palace Hotel. You have just completed the attached rating form on the performance of Mark/ Mary. This employee has seen the appraisal and the next step is to interview him/her to talk about any problems, training needs and career aspirations etc

5 EMPLOYEE’S ROLE You are Mary/ Mark whose performance appraisal assessment is attached. You work in the Reception area of the Palace Hotel. You will be attending an interview to discuss your appraisal in a few minutes time. You feel your supervisor was a little unjust in his/her comments and you wish to dispute the telephone and independence rating. You also want to discuss your opportunities for advancement in the hotel and what you can do to improve these chances.
