3 Rugby I am aware of the basic rules of rugby. I can sometimes catch the ball. I can run with the ball. I can sometimes tackle an opponent. I have some idea of the different playing positions and can play one of them. I can identify some of the strengths and weaknesses in my performance. I can follow a warm-up and cool-down safely using suitable activities. I know that exercise is important for a healthy lifestyle. 3c = 2 of the criteria met– from 2 colours! 3b = 4 of the criteria met- from 3 colours! 3a = All of the criteria met, Well done move on to level 4! National Curriculum Attainment Level

4 Rugby I know the basic rules of Rugby. I can catch the ball on a few occasions when not under pressure in static practices. I can run with the ball and pass accurately most of the time in a non pressured practice situations. I can usually tackle an opponent in static positions. I have some idea of the different playing positions and their roles. I can use some of the correct technique terms to improve performance. I can plan and lead simple practices and activities for myself and others. I understand the importance of exercise for a healthy lifestyle. 4c = 2 of the criteria met – from 2 colours! 4b = 4 of the criteria met – from 3 colours! 4a = All of the criteria met, Well done move on to level 5! 5 Rugby I know the rules of rugby. I can often catch the ball, and I can sometimes catch it while under a little pressure in practices. I can run with the ball, and sometimes beat opponents. I pass accurately most of the time in pressured practices. I can usually tackle an opponent whilst on the move. I have a good understanding of playing in at least 2 positions. I can identify strengths and weaknesses of mine and others performances, giving feedback to improve on this. I can plan, organise and lead practices and activities safely, whilst helping others to improve their performance I can explain why exercise is important to my health and fitness. 5c = 2 of the criteria met- from 2 colours! 5b = 4 of the criteria met- from 3 colours! 5a = All of the criteria met, Well done move on to level 6! 6 Rugby I know the rules of rugby and rarely make mistakes. I can catch the ball while under pressure in small sided games. I can run with the ball and usually beat opponents. I am beginning to use changes of speed. I nearly always pass accurately in small sided games. I can successfully use different types of tackles in small sided games. I know the role of, and can play in more than one position.specialising as a back or forward. I can give more detailed feedback to improve my own and others’ performances. When leading practices I can apply the rules and tactics relevant to rugby consistently. I understand how regular involvement in rugby can benefit a persons health and wellbeing. 6c = 2 of the criteria met- from 2 colours! 6b = 4 of the criteria met- from 3 colours! 6a = All of the criteria met, Well done move on to level 7! 7 Rugby I know the rules of rugby and can apply them in a game situation. I can catch the ball while under pressure in a game situation. I can run with the ball and usually beat opponents. I can use changes of speed. I nearly always pass accurately of both hands. I can use a variety of tackles to stop opponents in full game situations. I have a good understanding of rugby tactics and at least two playing positions and can play them effectively. I know which of the major muscles to stretch for rugby and understand the principles of training. I can take on different roles in rugby including: Performer, Leader & Official I can describe how rugby benefits physical, mental and social wellbeing and can share this information with a small group. 7c = 2 of the criteria met- from 2 colours! 7b = 4 of the criteria met- from 3 colours! 7a = All of the criteria met, Well done move on to level 8! National Curriculum Attainment Level
