2 Session Objectives Describe recruitment strategies for coalition participation Identify initial coalition formation steps taken by Region 2 Develop questions regarding coalition administrative organization to ask an HMCC sponsoring agency Compare the Region 2 coalition structure and outcomes to the structure and outcomes in other coalitions

4 Recruitment Strategies Know the players! Mission is goal oriented, focus NOT on money Everyday relevance, not just during emergencies  Attendance at discipline specific meetings & regional multi- disciplinary events (conferences, trainings, workshops)  PHEP, HPP, MassMAP, PERP  Individual facility meetings  Email distribution lists  Become a resource  Challenge: Stakeholder Turnover, Number of Stakeholders, Future Unknowns
