Healthy Indiana Plan & Maternity HIP 2.0 includes maternity coverage – No POWER account contributions or copayments while pregnant and for 60 days after giving birth – Pregnant women have the option of staying with their HIP 2.0 plan or transferring to HIP Maternity = Medicaid No differences in benefits HIP Plus > HIP Basic Uninsured pregnant women can utilize presumptive eligibility for Medicaid

Baby & Me Program 1 st Initiative of the Healthy Hoosiers Foundation – Created in 2013 to support programs that Reduce infant mortality Increase childhood immunizations Reduce obesity Reduce smoking rates Targets pregnant women who smoke – If they complete the program, they receive a $25 voucher for diapers every smoke-free month after the baby is born – Currently operates in 11 of Indiana’s 92 counties Seeking charitable donations to expand

Safety Pin Grant Program ISDH awards $ to proposals seeking to: – Improve access and coordination for at-risk pregnant women/fathers – Incentivize at-risk pregnant women/fathers to obtain prenatal care and support – Decrease smoking rates among pregnant women/fathers – Promote evidence based home visitation – Incentivize collaboration between providers in providing outreach to at-risk pregnant women/fathers ½ upfront, ½ upon ISDH finding infant mortality reduced among targeted area

Newborn Abandonment Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana to submit recommendations by 1/1/16 on: – New methods/mechanisms for carrying out policies relating to abandoned children – Production and distribution of information and posting of uniform signs regarding locations where children may be voluntarily left with an emergency medical services provider ISDH to submit recommendations by 1/1/16 on: – Standards/protocols for the installation and operation of newborn safety incubators

Greater Access to Clinical Trial Drugs Terminally ill patients allowed access to clinical drugs, biological products, or medical devices that have completed Phase I of FDA approval, but currently are not approved for general use –If patient does not have comparable or satisfactory treatment options that are fully FDA approved Liability protection for manufacturer and all involved healthcare providers HB 1065 Signed into law
