9 Elisa vs. Sonera During the day, Sonera had better signal power. At night, signal powers evened out. Average signal powers were similar. No big difference in data rates. Sonera might reduce the transmitting power of the BTS during the night.

13  Theoretical path losses calculated with Okumura-Hata extended model default frequency (1800 MHz)  Two BTSs, the estimated corresponding heights: a)16m and b) 20m  MSs on floor level with height 1.5m. One exception: On 4th floor, height: 20.356m Calculated with the standard for residential building: H= 3.1s + 7.75 + 1.55(s/30) Theoretical calculation and Hata model

14  Distances between BTSs and MSs: a) 295m b) 326m  Four different scenarios with corresponding path losses: a) i. 108.41ii. 107.41 b) i. 54.09ii. 53.09

15 The main problem is a combination of penetration loss and shadowing. The building lies in a bad spot. The building shadows inner court windows from the best BTS. Solution WiFi as alternative Repeater (Not recommended). Change of Antenna Site Larger solutions would be overscaled/expensive for this small area. Conclusion
