Community Outreach Volunteer Workshop Monday, October 17 (6-7:30pm) in the Student Government Chambers (4th Floor of MSC) Will provide information regarding possible volunteer opportunities in this area.

Community Outreach Weekly Events Hope Lodge : At this event, we work with cancer patients currently undergoing treatment at Moffitt as well as their families. We usually play bingo and hang out with the residents in an effort to take their minds off what they are going through. Time: every Tuesday from 7- 8pm. Achintya Patel achintya@mail.usf.edu Shriners Hospital for Children : Only four people are allowed to come with me each week. During the hour time frame PAMSA members will partake in arts and crafts activities with the patients, while earning community service hours. Time: Every Wedensday from 1-2pm Miriah Grace miriah@mail.usf.edu John Knox Retirement Community : Conducting different activities for the senior residents, such as watching movies and other events. Time: Every Wednesday from 2-4 PM. Alejandra Mallorga amallorga@mail.usf.edu

Community Outreach Weekly Events Tutoring at Pizzo Elementary : An opportunity to work with kids by reading with them and mentoring them. *Background check required for this event Time: Every Tuesday from 2:30-3:30 PM Epilepsy Services Foundation : On average, once a week we will attend a variety of different opportunities that will enhance our knowledge and awareness regarding Epilepsy. Several times we will attend meetings to get an insight on how Non-Profit organizations operate, while other times we will interact one-on-one with individuals dealing with Epilepsy. Community Outreach Monthly Events October Crohn's and Colitis Walk: Walk Date: Saturday, October 24, 2015 Walk Location: Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park (Same as last year) Shift One: 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (Set-up, 10 volunteers needed. Lunch will be provided. ) Shift Two: 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (Help during event: registration, food, bounce house, check on vendors and tear down. 15-20 volunteers needed.) Festival Starts at: 2:30 p.m. Walk Starts at: 4:00 p.m To volunteer, email: achintya@mail.usf.edu November Ronald McDonald House Date: Saturday, November 21 Time: 10:30am-12:30pm To volunteer and to figure out rides, email: sierrar@mail.usf.edu Biweekly Bake Sales! Physician Shadowing Paola Mancera paolamancera@mail.usf.edu Celine Cordon celinecordon@mail.usf.edu If you are interested in participating in the Physician Shadowing program this semester please keep in mind that you must attend both parts of the workshop series. The last session of the second part of the workshop will be held this Thursday, October 15 in MSC 2709 from 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Please be advised that we are requiring a business casual dress code that will be strictly enforced. If you missed either of the workshops, there will be another opportunity for you to participate in the physician shadowing program next semester. Dates and times will be made available at a later date. Please follow USF Pre-Med AMSA on facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep up to date with our events. When emailing our Directors, please keep in mind that we do our best to respond in a timely manner. We strive to reply to emails between 24-48 hours after we receive them on weekdays and any email sent on a weekend might take longer to reply.

Remote Area Medical Remote Area Medical is volunteer organization devoted to ending suffering by providing free healthcare to underprivileged communities and individuals across the country. This healthcare includes basic dental, vision, and medical treatment through the use of mobile lab units, all free of charge.
