2. Centripetal Force a force that causes objects in motion to move in a curved path

3. Force A push or pull that makes something move!

4. Friction Friction is the resistance between two surfaces that are in contact with each other.

5. Gravity Force that pulls objects towards the center of the Earth

6. Inertia the tendency of an object to stay at rest or in motion unless it is acted upon by a force

7. Lubricant a substance that reduces friction between the moving parts of a machine... i.e. oil in a car

8. Magnetism Force of attraction or repulsion Not all objects are affected by the Force of magnetism: wood, glass, paper, plastic (NO AFFECT) Common metals affected by Magnetism: iron, nickel, and cobalt

9. Mass The amount of “stuff” that something has. Remains the same, no matter where you are!

10. Motion a change in the position or place of an object

11. Weight Measurement of the force of gravity on an object Gravity pulling down on an object creates its “weight”
