Do Now What is the Land Like Around the School? In your Composition book draw a small square to represent the school. Choose a word to describe the land near the school, such as flat, hilly or rolling and write it next to the square. Make four squares surround the school to represent north (towards Slauson), south (Manchester), east (Florence) and west (LaCienga). What is the area like 1km (less than a mile) in each direction?

Relief- Math Activity On the map bottom of page 21. Highest point is? Sierra Nevada 2,500m What’s the lowest point? Pacific Ocean 0m 2,500m- 0m= 2,500m (relief) What if San Francisco was the lowest point? 2,500m-475m= 2,025m
