Brief Overview of Resource Registration Review of Resource Registration activities: –GENMAP Registration Workshop Conducted January 14, 2010 Excerpts of workshop included in appendix http://www.ercot.com/calendar/2010/01/20100114-GENMAP Highlights to bring forward to NATF –Current status of Resources in Network Model (next slide) –Resource activities and timeline Appendix 1- RARF Rules Update Appendix 2- GenMap package (EPS meter and one-lines) http://nodal.ercot.com 2

http://nodal.ercot.com 3 Updates and Progress RARF Disposition in Model as of Jan 29

http://nodal.ercot.com 4 Timeline of Activities 2010 DEC JAN FEB MAR APR MAY JUN JUL AUG SEP OCT NOV DEC MP11 - GENMAP Verifications (January 18 thru April 1) MP11 – DME Declarations (Dec 7 through January 8) MP11 - RARF True-up (February 1 thru April 1) Nodal Market Go-Live (December 1, 2010) MP11 - RARF Transmission Data (June 15 thru Dec 1, 2009)

Summary of Resource Activities http://nodal.ercot.com 5 Activities in flight (measured by MP11 Metric) Timeline on next page RARF (Resource Transmission Equipment- concluded) DME (Resource Decision Making Entity) RARF True-Up (Resource Business Rule Validation) GENMAP (Resource EPS meter mapping confirmation and one-line) Resource Node mapping is per Procedure for Identifying Resource Nodes (July 23, 2008) http://nodal.ercot.com/mktrules/np/index.html http://nodal.ercot.com/mktrules/np/index.html Nodal procedure allows 5 business days to turn GENMAP package around (10 business days per MP11)

http://nodal.ercot.com 6 Appendix 1: RARF Rules Update

Resource Asset Registration Form – Business Rule updates Site Information Tab –CMZ now a required field –If Generation load Split is 'Y', then Fixed Load Splitting % (for each ESIID's) must total 100 Unit Information Tab –ALL: Unit Commercial date must be >= Site-In-Service Date –WIND: Latitude of Farm & Tower must be >=25 and <=37 decimal degrees –WIND: Longitude of Farm & Tower must be >=92 and <= 107 decimal degrees Parameters Tab –ALL: HRL should be <= Real Power Rating (WARNING only) –ALL: LRL must be zero for Private Use Network Sites Reactive Capability Tab –ALL: Lagging MVAR must be >= MVAR

Resource Asset Registration Form – Business Rule updates Operational Parameters Tab –ALL: Minimum On Line Time (Warning! If decimal value is submitted then Downstream System may round it UP) –ALL: Minimum Off Line Time (Warning! If decimal value is submitted then Downstream System may round it UP) –ALL: Hot Start Time - (Warning! If decimal value is submitted then Downstream System may round it DOWN) –ALL: Intermediate Start Time - (Warning! If decimal value is submitted then Downstream System may round it DOWN) –ALL: Cold Start Time - (Warning! If decimal value is submitted then Downstream System may round it DOWN) –ALL: Max Weekly Starts - Min value 1, Max value is 85 (WARNING) –ALL: Max Daily Starts - Min value 1, Max value 13 (WARNING) –ALL: Hot-to-Intermediate Time - (Warning! If decimal value is submitted then Downstream System may round it DOWN) –ALL: Intermediate-to-Cold Time - (Warning! If decimal value is submitted then Downstream System may round it DOWN)

Resource Asset Registration Form – Business Rule updates CC Transitions Tabs –CC: Transitions From Offline required –CC: Transitions To Offline required –CC: Transitions must not skip configurations (eg: Offline to CC1_2) –CC: Should have a Transition for each Configuration (WARNING) Line Data Tab –Zero impedance lines within same substation must be modeled on the breaker/switch tab –Line Ratings for zero impedance lines must be valid (eg: 9999 not allowed) Capacitor and Reactor Data Tab –Connected Device must also be defined either in the Breaker/Switch or in the Transformer Tab –This field should be unique (No two capacitors should have the same controlling breaker or switch) –Warning if Desired, Minimum, and Maximum voltage fields values have a range not within 10% of the Voltage level of the Bus Bar being Regulated

Resource Asset Registration Form – Business Rule updates Transformer Data Tab –Transformer High Side Manufactured Nominal Voltage must equal Voltage at Highest Tap - Step Size voltage to reach Nominal Tap voltage –Error if the Transformer Resistance is less than 3 decimals, Warning if the Transformer Resistance is greater than 2 but less than 5 decimals –Load Tap Changer must be 'Y' when AVR is ‘Y’ –Error if Transformer Resistance to Reactance ratio >1, Warning if R/X >3 Load Data Tab –Connected Device must also be defined either in the Breaker/Switch or in the Transformer Tab

General Info http://nodal.ercot.com 22 The one-lines are provided for two reasons – one to verify the accuracy of the meter and unit location on the one-line; the second as a tool to verify the mapping. Each node and meter will have reference “Connections”. Each item listed in the connection column will refer to all equipment electrically connected to the node or meter point. These connections are represented as [CB]1234 or [XFMR]U1 and are shown on the one-line screenshots. The connections column identifies the equipment type by offsetting the type in brackets, such as [CB]1234, where [CB] refers to the equipment type Circuit Breaker. The list below identifies the common equipment types : o [XFMR] Transformer o [CB] Circuit breaker o [DSC] Disconnect (switch) o [UN] Generation Unit o [LN] Line o [LD] Load o [SERIES] Series Device o [SVC] Static-Var  Note: Transformer naming convention in GENMAP pkg is power transformer concatenation and may not match names provided in the RARF. The one-line screenshot uses several colors to define the operating voltage of the equipment and buses represented. The list below identifies the voltages associated with each color: o Purple: 345kV o Green: 138kV o Blue: 69kV o Pink: Other voltages
