3. History 1.First Policy Document: „The Declaration of Izmir“ (2006) States that the EFSHT is committed to defining a profile for the competencies of a hand therapist. 2. Second Policy Document: “EFSHT Hand Therapist Profile” (2007) (amended 2009) Is a position and standards paper regarding the qualification of Hand Therapy as a speciality area of practice.

5. Admission requirements: 1. Applicants must be qualified OT/ PTs 2. Applicants are members of a HT society recognised by the EFSHT 4. Where possible, applicants should first achieve national HT status Portfolio 1.5 years clinical experience as qualified OT / PT (9000 hrs.) 2.2000 hrs. of hand therapy experience 3.Evidence of „Continuous Professional Development“ (CPD) „European Certified Hand Therapist (ECHT)“
