Mercury is: the nearest planet to the Sun and the smallest planet in our Solar system. similar in appearance to the Moon it is heavily cratered, has no natural satellites and no substantial atmosphere. the fastest planet in our Solar system because its orbit around the sun last only 88 days, but its rotation around axis is very slow.

Something about Mercury Mercury is one of four terrestrial planets and is a rocky body like the Earth. Mercury's core has higher iron content than that of any other major planets in the Solar System.
