Taxonomy Is the science of classifying organisms. Our modern classification system was developed by a Swedish botanist Carolus Linnaeus. He developed a two word naming system of organisms called Binomial nomenclature.

Binomial nomenclature First name or Genus name is always capitalized. Second name or Species name is NOT capitalized. Both names are underlined.
