15 Grade Point Average Better known as GPA Is calculated from your final grade in a class and is permanent and non-negotiable. Georgia public 2 year and 4 year colleges and universities require at least a 2.0 GPA on academic classes This counts for English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language Classes (includes Psychology, Mythology, Modern Military Science, etc.) The more credits you have the harder it is to raise GPA significantly.

16 Grade Point Average Calculating your GPA A grades count as 4 points B grades count as 3 points C grades count as 2 points D grades count as 1 point F grades count as 0 points. DCHS calculates your GPA on all classes taken. This is not the same GPA that colleges and HOPE will calculate. A cumulative grade point average will be determined by using a four-point scale for all grades earned. Numeric grades are converted to the four-point scale, totaled, and divided by the total number of courses taken. The resulting number is to be rounded to the third decimal place. A helpful website for calculating GPA is http://www.back2college.com/gpa.htm
