September 2015 2 PennO365: From Pilots to General Migrations Penn Pilot: August – September 2015 Penn Pilot Goals Validate infrastructure –Email routing –Free/busy calendar sharing –Account provisioning Migrate individual accounts representative of participating email platforms Exercise the “migration steps” –Local Support Providers Validate mobile device and email client configuration instructions Provide communication services (website, email, FAQs, known issues) Define pre/day-of/post migration checklists Identify technical issues and remediate

September 2015 3 PennO365: From Pilots to General Migrations Microsoft Pilot: October 2015 Microsoft Pilot Goals: 500 Accounts Production Ready Prepare for General Migrations: Validate moving departments; large work units Validate “tools” that enable clients to migrate and support groups –Scripts to identify email/calendar dependencies to select groups to move together –Microsoft group migration scripts –Desktop configuration tools Validate Ceryx to administer users and groups Offer training via Knowledge Link –Local Support Provider lunch-time learning: Moving to O365 –End-user training: Office365 Essentials Address remaining “Open Questions” related to moving departments –Web site will be used to communicate and document FAQs Identify technical issues and remediate

September 2015 4 PennO365: From Pilots to General Migrations General Migrations: December 2015 General Migrations: Goals Weekly migrations will be scheduled every Tuesday and Wednesday night Minimum 500 accounts per week; representing multiple schools/centers Migrations should be scheduled over as short a time period as practical to avoid complexities in workflows It is recommended that groups that work together and share calendars should be migrated together Migrations start Tuesday, December 1, 2015 –December will include migrations for three weeks; targeting 1,500 migrations –Weekly migrations resume Tuesday, January 5, 2016
