A SAVIOR IS COMING

Romans 5.1-6 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

ELPIZ Expectation, Confident expectation in our salvation, to anticipate with pleasure

No matter what season you are in, every season has a savior

How do we Navigate our Season?  Socials: Gather with Other People

Genesis 1.14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years.

MOADIMAppointed: Seasons, Festivals, Feast, Assembly of a Group of People

How do we Navigate our Season?  Socials: Gather with Other People  Sabbaths: Know your Limits

Genesis 2.1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. 3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

Eugene Peterson on “Sabbath” The Hebrew evening morning sequence conditions us to the rhythms of grace, that grace is primary – we awaken to a world we didn’t make and a salvation we didn’t earn. Then in the evening God begins without our help, his creative day, and in the morning he invites us to share, extend, and develop the work he initiated.

How do we Navigate our Season?  Socials: Gather with Other People  Sabbaths: Know your Limits  Sayings: Ask for Wisdom

Hebrews 1.1-2 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

Prophesies regarding Jesus   born in the line of David (Isa. 9:6-7),   of the tribe of Judah (Gen. 49:10)   and in the town of Bethlehem (Mic. 5:2).   He would be a Man of Sorrows—justifying many through what He suffered (Isa. 53).   The promised Deliverer would be a light overcoming darkness (Isa. 9:2),   a Preacher of Good News to the poor (Isa. 61)   One walking in the power of the Spirit (Isa. 42:1).

Hebrews 4.15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
