5. Grade 3 “Folk/Fairy Tales” Grade 4 “Science Fiction/Fantasy” Grade 5 “Harry Potter” Students will read, discuss, and analyze various folk and fairy tales. As a culminating activity, students will author, illustrate, and present their own folk or fairy tales. Students will read, discuss, and analyze various fantasy and science fiction stories. As a culminating activity, students will design their own country that is aligned to the genre study. Students will read, discuss, and analyze Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by JK Rowling. As a culminating activity, students will construct their own original theme park (or school).
