Needs assessment - Surrey National prevalence: 1 in 10 children between age 5 and 16 years have a mental health problem “There is an estimated increase in the number of children with mental health disorders in Surrey from 5,884 in 2009 to 6,014 in 2012, based on an increase in the population estimates.” Surrey Health Needs Assessment, Jan 2014

8. Thinking differently…. What can we do to make the most effective clinical use of current investment ? How can we identify need earlier and get better outcomes for patients? Which patients require Specialist CAMHS assessment, intervention and review? Which ones can be seen in primary care? Are there other services in the community which we can make use of e.g. counselling?
