Mission and Vision Statements Mission: The Mission of A.W. Beattie Career Center is to empower each student to become a successful adult. Vision: To be one of the best Career and Technical Centers in the state. To provide an educational experience for our students that transcends the traditional brick and mortar boundaries.

Technology Assessment Strengths: Cisco Network Infrastructure - Gigabit Ethernet Software applications in place for all programs Many Classrooms equipped with projectors/boards Prosoft SIS and Financial systems Challenges: Content Filter, Firewall, Spam Filter, Email server Minimal Wireless coverage Telephone and Voice Mail systems Teachers Tools – Grading program, PC Monitoring Program

Curriculum and Learning Goal Goal 1. All students will participate in a distance learning experience, such as virtual field trip, guest instructor or remote class discussions. Objective 1.1. Students in foreign language classes will be able to participate in the class by remaining at their home school and attend the class utilizing video conferencing technology. Objective 1.2. Students will be able to participate in at least one distance-learning event per semester.

Administrative and Management Goal 1. Improve data-informed decision-making by implementing a data warehouse solution. Objective 1.1. Administrators and Teachers will use a curriculum mapping and lesson planning application to improve the curriculum and instruction. Objective 1.2. All teachers will use their student’s academic history to improve the options for differentiating instruction.

Administrative and Management Goal 2. Increase and upgrade technical infrastructure to better support technology integration in the classroom. Objective 2.1 Upgrade network infrastructure including new firewall, upgraded wiring closets, new email server, new telephone system, new desktops and connection to the RWAN. Objective 2.2 Upgrade or install classroom technology, including projectors, smart boards and video conferencing equipment.

Communication and Information Goal 1. Develop a communication system to notify all parents of important information. Objective 1.1 Notify parents nightly with a telephone call if their child is absent from school. Objective 1.2. Notify all parents within a 10 minute period if there is a building-wide emergency at school.
