The Evolution of Technology Provided Opportunities for Growth for a Global Population The search for food for an ever-increasing population drove prehistoric man to create more efficient means of gathering and storing food supplies. *Today we can trace the evolution of technology from the ancient hunter/gatherers to farming to modern, complex food production and distribution processes. Understanding the Driving Factors in the Evolution of Technology a.The need for survival of large human populations drove the development of more efficient hunting and farming tools. b.
