AMBITIONS 20 & 21 October 2015 120+ different contributors Interactive workshops for 2,500 Year 9 students in 4 daytime sessions All South Gloucestershire secondary schools and academies Evening AMBITIONS event on 20 October with additional contributors, Progression Routes Zone and a Guidance Centre

81% of Year 9 students thought that the AMBITIONS event had helped them to plan for the future 72% of Year 9 students felt that taking part in AMBITIONS workshops with employers had improved their awareness of different jobs 78% of Year 9 students enjoyed the workshops in which they took part 98% of students and parents said they got useful information at the AMBITIONS EVENING EVENT (2014 event evaluation at www.ambitions.events)

AMBITIONS WORKSHOPS All South Gloucestershire Year 9 students (about 2500) will be attending AMBITIONS workshops The main aim is to give students an insight into different areas of employment through interactive workshops and skills activities A key element of Key Stage 4 (GCSE, Level 2 BTEC) options choices preparations Students take part in preparatory activities and have made 5 workshop choices in advance Supervising teachers also make workshop choices - AMBITIONS is a useful professional development opportunity!

20,000 invitations currently going out to all South Gloucestershire students in Years 7 to 13 and their parents - around 2,250 people attended the 2014 evening event with most visitors staying for between 1 and 2 hours

For contributors wanting to set up or check facilities the day before the event, access to the ECC is available between 3.00 and 6.00 pm Entry to the site is via the NORTH GATE please park at the main ECC entrance PARKING PERMITS are downloadable from the website SET UP, PARKING & ARRIVAL MONDAY 19 OCTOBER

Arrival on both days of the event is from 7.30 am - morning traffic can be very heavy in this area Entry to the site is via the NORTH ENTRANCE - NOT the main UWE entrance Please follow the signs to the EVENT CONTRIBUTOR CAR PARK - don’t forget to display your PARKING PERMIT SET UP, PARKING & ARRIVAL
