4. 4 Pascal Perret - LPC Clermont Repairs  Repairs done before magnet test! Access very difficult for SPD Scaffolding not very stable Too far from VFE boxes M1 beam is in the way for milling tools … 2 screws not repaired … SPD SM5 top SPD SM7 top Some “helicoils” installed More fragile …  Be careful!

5. 5 Pascal Perret - LPC Clermont Remarks & Advices  M3 screws, 10 or 12 mm long to be used  A lot of screws have been damaged when using a worn tool… or screw to hard …  Damaged threading comes from screwing not right

6. 6 Pascal Perret - LPC Clermont Remarks & Advices  Use allen keys in good conditions: if not don’t hesitate to change it or repair it!  Apply small strength to screw: use small part of the key …  Change screws each time you open a box  2 people are needed to close the cover (top) in order to maintain, push and screw properly (good access is needed!)!  Marks have been put on covers (except SPD A top):  If you feel it is too difficult, don’t do it: ask for explanation or an expert …  More info in attached files 2T 3T  Screw in the order 1 – 6  Push the cover according to the arrow directions
