Figure drawing And templates

In your project books… Make a mark at the the top of your page Make a mark at the bottom of your page Join them together with a straight line Make a mark in the middle of that line

Proportion Your first task – using the string on each table…in groups of 3, find out: How many heads fit in a body? Where to the arms come down to? Where are the hips? How wide are the shoulders?

Figure drawing Get into groups of 6 You will draw each other One person will model at a time Everyone will model 3 minutes per pose Get the proportions right!

Templates When designers create new fashion drawings, they work on templates. Having a template means they can create a lot of designs quickly How are the proportions of these drawings different to real life human bodies?

Figure drawing for fashion You will create your own figure template. Remember, the features of your women can be exaggerated, but keep them looking like homo-sapiens! You must include 3 views : front, side, back Your final template should be clean, with a simple clean line. No shading. Do not add hair.

Homework Finish your templates. You can scan your finished design and print more copies, or you can photocopy it. You should have about 15-20 copies in total http://www.catwalkyourself.com/page/haute_co uture/ Look at the different collections on these videos. When you find an outfit you like, pause the video and draw the outfit in colour on your template
