For every kernel, craft an original sentence, explaining the meaning in your own words

4 Crafting your Thesis Re-read your original sentences under your kernels Think carefully about the ideas you are creating Combine your commentary into one clear summary This will become your Thesis statement and will be your first sentence in your SAR Thesis statements are your topic sentence This topic sentence is your main idea in your answer Your thesis should address the prompt and guide your answer

5 Crafting your SAR Use your commentary sentences as your supporting statements Revise/reorder your sentences as necessary Use transition statements if needed Your underlined kernels will become your “quotes” in your final answer Enter your kernels into your original sentences Your final SAR should be 3-4 sentences long.
