Milanesa Milanesa was brought into south America by the Italians. It was adopted as a Mexican dish, and is made of a layer of breaded steak. The steak is then covered with “Spanish sauce” and melted cheese. There are many different ways to make it, depending on the culture. There are also different meats used, but I ate the steak variation. BeforeAfter

Mexican Hot Chocolate I think the MHC tastes like chai latte. I have heard that it is supposed to be spicy, but the kind I had really just tasted like cinnamon. The origin of MHC is traced back to the Mayans and Aztecs. It is made of cocoa and several different spices, including cinnamon, peppercorn, and nutmeg.

Flan Flan is a custard dessert, and I had already tried it before going to los Galane’s. Flan was actually originally Roman, and served as a savory dish during Lent. It was turned into a dessert by the French, and made it’s way over to South America. It is usually described as a sponge cake or a custard pastry. The recipe is: 1 cup and 1/2 cup sugar 6 large eggs 1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk 2 13 oz cans evaporated milk 1 teaspoon vanilla
