3. DATE, PLACE... Bilbao high week is celebrated annually over the following 9 days from 15th August in Bilbao.

4. ACTIVITIES The celebration starts with a big firework called “txupinazo”, people throw eggs and flour. The people go to the parties and drink and eat in special places called “txoznas”. People go to the funfire, watch fireworks and listen to concerts.

5. SPECIAL THINGS OF BILBAO HIGH WEEK People sometimes eat in “Txoznas”, but there isn’t special food. They don’t wear any special clothes, but usually some people wear an arrantzal clothes. The special icon of Bilbao high week is Marijaia, it is an invented character by Mari Puri Herrero.
