“Minimal” Implementation Goals Encourage students to read before lectures Get them to reflect on key ideas Collect “just-in-time” information on student difficulties Physics 2A & 2B 5% of module grade for participation* in – online Moodle questions – in-class clicker questions (*graded for effort, not correctness) 100 students; large-lecture format; 4 instructors Weekly pre-lecture reading assignments / questions
