11. “It’s almost impossible to go to college if my parents didn’t…” Be the first! There are programs and scholarships available to first generation college students. You can do it.

14. In 2005, 63% of all college students pursuing bachelor’s degrees were receiving some sort of financial aid. Two thoughts: 1. 2005 was a long time ago – why is our data so old? 2. There IS financial support available for you to go to college

15. “Only students with good grades go to college…” Good grades and high test scores can definitely help when applying to college. But, college admissions staff also take into account your background and school or community-based activities.

16. “I can’t go to college because I don’t know what I want to do with my life…” Most students decide what they want to do during or after college.
