2
The Structure Team’s Mission Statement. To design and build economically sustainable, educational, entertaining tech exhibit at ACM as part of SAIN’s tourist circuit to create interest and generate economic activity in the south central PA and MD area.
3
Table of Contents The Design Process Opportunity and Problem Space Specifications Brainstorming and Analysis Solution Examples Summary Appendices
4
The Opportunity was to design a portion of a self- sustaining circuit using educational tools based on the STEM disciplines. South Central PA needs more money spent in their area on tourism Must educate the customer in STEM disciplines Must use structures in the education process Located near ACM as part of S.A.I.N.’s loop
5
From the opportunity we recognize the consumer needs and specifications. The Customer Specifications Safe for everyone Is User Friendly Easy to Setup Software is interactive Is visually appealing The Engineering Specifications In a 14’ x 14’ exhibit footprint Have 4 computers in the exhibit Enough K’Nex for 8 children at a time
6
Brainstorming: The ideas we chose. #1 Computer Bridges #2 K’Nex Building #3 Computer Demonstration
7
The Exhibit Area All computers have access to both programs Touchscreen technology K’Nex area for building bridges With drawers filled with different parts
