2 Giant African Snails

3 what are they? Giant African Snails are really big snails that come from Africa.

4 what do they look like? Giant African Snails look like other snails but they are really BIG. Their shells can grow up to 20cm long – that is longer than your pencil.

5 what do they eat? Giant African Snails eat fruit, vegetables and plants. yum

6 why are they a pest? Giant African Snails eat lots of food because they are big. They eat more food than the snails in your garden.

7 why are they a pest? Giant African Snails occur in plagues. This means that there are lots and lots of snails eating crops.

8 where is it found? Giant African Snails can be found in lots of places but it isn’t in Australia. We hope it never gets here.
