1 Chapter 6 “Called to Love” Vocabulary 1. Allegories: Expressions of truth or generalizations of human experiences through the use of symbolic fictional figures or actions. 2. Ecumenism: The effort to strive toward unity among all Christians. 3. The Samaritan Woman: In John’s Gospel, he writes that Jesus reveals himself to a Samaritan Woman. 4. Nicodemus: He underwent a gradual and slow process of being reborn in the Spirit.

2 Chapter 6 continued 5. Logos: The Greek word for “Word” 6. Incarnation: John describes this as the basis for all Jesus’ miracles. 7. Images: These allow us to express that which is inexpressible in words alone. 8. Resurrection: This is when Jesus’ followers understood more clearly who he was and why he came.
