Home Carrier EVDO TDS Roaming Carrier EVDO TDS EVDO TDS Critical EVDO information to share: The above TDS examples are part of the recommended standard EVDO TDS format. It is beneficial to share this level of detail to your roaming partners in order to create a clear and accurate PRL. System Table Column 4 – SubnetID includes recommended mask value* Column 6 – Association to 1x broadcast SID Columns 1, 2 and/or 3 – Market information helpful for Geo grouping Acquisition Table Columns 7 and 8 – Band Class and corresponding channel Column 9, 10 etc. – Can cause confusion. Are the channels required for acquisition for not? *Carriers may use Column 5 to provide the recommended mask value.

System Table EVDO tips... The Roaming Indicators are labeled ‘Off ‘and ‘On’ to represent ‘1’ and ‘0’ to easily identify them in the excel file. Association Tag number must be unique within the same GEO but can be re-used in another GEO. Tag ‘5’ is used in both GEOs for the Home network. Tag ‘12’ is used for the roaming network. Acquisition of SID 400, 410, 420 or SID 81 will allow the device to scan for an EVDO signal but it will only acquire if the subnetID mask is found along with the channel listed in the HDR index. Acquisition of SID 80 will not allow EVDO acquisition nor scan any HDR channels.

EVDO tips... Acquisition type ‘HDR Channels’ is a generic label so the PRL author must identify the Band Class before each EVDO channel. Be sure to use the correct Band Class so that your device will acquire. Channel 425 can be transmitted Band Class 1 and Band Class 0. Stack the Channels in each Index by most used or highest populated markets. Avoid adding extra channels that are not needed for acquisition to help with scanning time and battery life.
