I. Human resources The work of the Observatory is carried out by : AFRISTAT experts alone; Mixed teams (AFRISTAT experts + and Consultants recruited for the assignment); Associated experts. N.B.: In all cases, the methods and the tools used are those chosen and/or recommended by AFRISTAT.

II. Methods of collaboration There are 2 possible formats for collaboration: Specific Technical Assistance assignments; Service delivery agreements. Caution: -Terms of reference (must be drawn up systematically); -Discussions to ensure the prior conditions have been met (availability of counterparts, documents and other data, etc.)

II. Methods of collaboration Non-member countries must pay for AFRISTAT services. Arrangements can be found to offer preferential treatment in terms of fee schedules.

III & IV. Areas of collaboration and opportunities Collaboration can be developed in all of AFRISTAT’s areas of expertise; Opportunities: Geographical proximity and many similarities with member states (economic, sociological, cultural, etc.); Many of AFRISTAT’s member states are also members of ECOWAS; Positive approach to developing partnerships; POSSIBILITY of extending services to English-speaking countries.
