Farinosa pathotypes resistance (Pfs1 and Pfs 4)

11 P Coquin : 3rd WP coordinators meeting Leafy Vegetables, Warwick, 11 June 2009 25/12/2015 Evaluation for P2 (GEVES)  What has been done : Evaluation of disease resistance : - 14 accessions to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (FNPE): data on witlooves collected on Feb. 2009 - 17 accessions to Thielaviopsis basicola (2 nd test about to be effective in summer 09) - 22 accessions to Alternaria cichorii (data sent to database manager)  What will be done in 2009 : - data collected in Feb. 09 (S. Scleritiorum) to be provided to the chicory database manager - evaluation of disease resistance : 72 accessions to T. Basicola and 20 accessions to A. cichorii

12 P Coquin : 3rd WP coordinators meeting Leafy Vegetables, Warwick, 11 June 2009 25/12/2015 Evaluation for P4 (Palacky)  What has been done : - Selection of 30 lettuce accessions for characterization. - In 2008, evaluation of 30 lettuce accessions for response to 3 Bremia lactucae isolates ; 2008 data sent to the WP3 leader  What will be done in 2009 : - 2008 data to be formatted and sent to database manager - In 2009, evaluation of the lettuce accessions for response to 9 new isolates of Bremia lactucae - In 2010, depending on the exact 2009 B.l. Races tested, 8 races will be tested

13 P Coquin : 3rd WP coordinators meeting Leafy Vegetables, Warwick, 11 June 2009 25/12/2015 Evaluation for P5 (Nordgen)  What has been done : - Rucola (Eruca) : 20 accessions collected and submitted in 2008 to chemical evaluations (nitrate, oxalic acid) ; results sent to database manager. - Spinach : 51 accessions tested in 2008 (60 scheduled) to chemical evaluations with data sent to database manager.  What will be done in 2009 : Chemical evaluations of 16 orache (Atriplex hortensis) : spinach or minor crops ?

16 P Coquin : 3rd WP coordinators meeting Leafy Vegetables, Warwick, 11 June 2009 25/12/2015 Evaluation for P9 (University of Bologna)  What has been done : –Evaluation in 2008 of 37 Rucola accessions (Eruca sativa, Diplotaxis tenuifolia) for glucosinolates content, –Data have been sent to the database manager  What will be done in 2009 : - Evaluation for sesquiterpenes in chicory on 97 accessions (mainly leafy chicories) : - seeds of 75 accessions sent from P2 – GEVES for plant production during 2009 summer - seeds of 11 accessions already available in P9 place - production of roots is on going for 11 accessions for analysis on witlooves during first months of 2010

17 P Coquin : 3rd WP coordinators meeting Leafy Vegetables, Warwick, 11 June 2009 25/12/2015 Evaluation for P10 (KIS)  What has been done : Evaluation of 7 accessions for tolerance- resistance to root-knot nematodes (Meloïdogyne ethiopica).  What will be done in 2009 : - Transmission of data to WP3 coordinator and database manager - Evaluation of 7 other accessions for nematode resistance/tolerance.
