1 ATC Artist Trading Cards

2 ATCs must: measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches (64 X 89 mm). be traded for other cards—not sold. be flat enough to fit into a plastic trading card sleeve. be signed and dated on the back of the card.

3 Each card had to have a reoccurring word
Each card had to have a reoccurring symbol Each card had to express a personal like, dislike, interest, or subject – either literally or metaphorically Any surface could be used for the cards – though playing cards were provided (to avoid the blank surface syndrome) Any media could be used Each card had to be signed by the artist

4 ATC THEMES ATC swaps are sometimes organized around a theme or topic such as:

8 Transfer 1 I am hoping you have images to work with. We are going to go through several methods of transfer Ink Jet image: Apply generous amount of regular gel medium to receiving paper.

9 Transfer 1 Paint a generous layer of gel medium
Lay copy image side down onto your receiving paper. Burnish and let sit for 10 seconds, Then remove the paper. Paper fibers may remain; gently rub them off.

10 Transfer 2 Solvent- You must do this outside so that we can use the room later. Place a color image face down onto your paper or fabric. Brush the back of the image with solvent (acetone, Citra solve, xylene) and burnish for 20 seconds, or more if the image is large. Citra solve AD Blender Marker Be sure to work in a well ventilated area.

11 Transfer 3 Ink jet image. Apply clear packing tape over your image and burnish well. Soak the tape and copy in warm water until paper is saturated. Gently rub the paper to remove it from the tape. Dry

12 Emboss Resist 4 Coat card with paint- this is the color that shows through. Stamp image using clear embossing ink. Cover ink with embossing powder- tap off excess. Heat up powder with heat gun. Dry brush Contrasting color- let dry Place scrap paper over paint. Apply iron over that paper using pressure. Peel off scrap paper.

13 Metal Tape 5 Add solution ink to tape.
Spread droplets, heat with a heat gun Tear tape if desired. Brayer piece to card. Get another piece of tape and emboss with a stylus Add black paint then buff. Add shapes color and add to the card.

14 Folder card 6 Make a card that has a fold Tri fold Decorative fold

16 Create a card showing Value.

17 String Make a card using string, wire or other unusual material.

18 Transfer (not doing today)
Print an image onto inkjet transparency. Evenly brush soft gel medium onto your paper and smooth out the brushstrokes with your finger. Place the transparency ink side down onto your paper and burnish for about 20 seconds.
