Why Study World Language? There is a correlation between language learning and… Development of cognitive abilities Ability to hypothesize in science Higher scores on standardized tests Higher academic performance at the college level Increased linguistic awareness Attention control on cognitive tasks Development of reading skills Improvement of verbal and spatial skills Problem solving ability

Parents Without you, teachers would not have a job. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your child. Please get involved with your child’s EHS experience. Research has proven that when parents and teachers work together, everyone benefits: students tend to earn higher grades, perform better on tests, attend school more regularly, have better behavior, and show more positive attitudes toward themselves and toward school.

Classroom Rules 1. Be on time every day. School policy on attendance and tardiness will be enforced. 2. Come to class prepared: homework, writing utensil, notebook, etc. 3. Participate. 4. Sit in the assigned seat daily. 5. Request extra help –DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE! 6. Treat others with respect and consideration. Students have to be responsible for their own behavior and actions. 7. Make up work: guidelines provided in the Students handbook

How Can I Help My Child? Give them a practice test on Thursday. Remind them of their choice board every week. Learn some Chinese with them. Encourage them to keep up with the learning. Send me an email with questions.

Want to Go to China? Not a EHS sponsored activity or field trip. Kennesaw State University – Confucius Institute Fees: plane ticket, insurance, visa application fee and application fee, around $2000 All expenses in China is free: hotels, food, transportation, boarding, sightseeing, Chinese lessons, etc.
