2
Developed the idea of the Atomic theory Dalton proposed that all matter is made up of atoms and that they are invisible and indestructible building blocks (matter cannot be created nor destroyed) His theory also enforces how different elements all have atoms with different sizes and masses, and that all atoms of a single element is identical He also proposed that elements cannot be altered or destroyed chemically, but they can be combined to create even more chemical compounds His theory states that all compounds are composed of combinations of these atoms in defined ratios He also says that chemical reactions lead to the rearrangement of the reacting atoms (reactants and products) The designation (naming) of the atomic mass unit is as a Dalton Time of Discovery: Dalton began to come up with the atomic theory when he published an article for the Manchester Library and Philosophical in 1803 in Manchester, UK. He also published his book A New System of Chemical Philosophy in 1808 which covers the following parts of his theory. SCIENTIFIC FACTS OF DALTON
