Activity Create your own club! 1 You will create a club with members of your group. You will be able to choose any club that you would like. 2 Today: You will have to choose your club name and start preparing a song or skit. Your song or skit should encourage and convince students to join your club. 3 Today: You will have 15 minutes to prepare at the end of class and then you will have to practice on your own. 4 Next class: You will have the first 10 minutes to practice and then each group will present their song or skit in front of the class.

LESSONRequirements Choose a club name: It can be any club you want. Do a song: 1.The song must be at least 14 lines long. 2.Your group must write the lyrics but you can use a familiar tune. 3.Every group member must sing. 4.The song must be entirely in English. Do a skit: 1.The skit must be at least 20 lines long. 2.Every group member must talk. 3.The skit must be entirely in English. Goal: Encourage and convince students to join your club.

You dance just like Michael Jackson. D:We’re part of a new club at school called the Theatre Club, and I think you would be the perfect addition to our club. A:I’m so honored that you would ask me. I would love to join. C:Do you have any friends that would like to join? A:Yes, but they can’t sing or dance very well. E:No problem. We accept anybody who just wants to learn and have fun. All:Join Theatre Club today!

LESSONDeadlines Today You will have the rest of class to come up with a club name and create a song or skit. Remember: You will need to work outside of class! Next Week You will have the first 10 minutes of class to prepare. Each group will present their song or skit for 3 minutes each.
