The project assesses the contribution of local labour market policy to boosting quality jobs enhancing productivity It is a cross-comparative study involving 11 countries: United States, Australia, Belgium (Flanders), Canada, Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Korea, and the United Kingdom (Northern Ireland) Overview of Local Job Creation Project 2

Research is undertaken using a “dashboard” assessment along four key thematic areas: 1.Better aligning policies and programmes to local economic development 2.Adding value through skills 3.Targeting policy to local employment sectors and investing in quality jobs 4.Inclusion The dashboard enables national and local policy makers to gain a stronger overview of the strengths and weaknesses of the current policy framework, while better prioritising future actions and resources.
