10.3- Surface Areas of Prisms and Cylinders (p. 528) I. Defining a Prism A. Prism: a polyhedron with 2 congruent, parallel faces. 1.) Bases: the 2 congruent, parallel faces of the polyhedron 2.) Lateral faces: the other faces of the polyhedron 3.) Altitude: a perpendicular segment joining the planes of the bases 4.) Height: the length of an altitude
