Ⅲ. Maintenance Replacement of toner cartridge I.Because these is not OPC protecting shutter, picture is affected by OPC light fatigue. Don’t open the right cover for a long time. II.Although Toner Cartridges are equipped at each color space, caution message could be displayed by CRUM information. III.When toner cartridge replace, PTB belt could be damaged.

PTB UnitRelease Lever I.Using the handle, Completely open the access door. II.Press the green release button on the inside of the access door to release the transfer belt. III. Holding the handle on the transfer belt, lift the used transfer belt out of the printer. IV.Take a new transfer belt out of the package. V.Remove the paper covering the transfer belt by removing the tape. VI.Holding the handle on the new transfer belt, align in with the slots on the inside of the access door. Push down until it clicks into place. VII.Then lower the transfer belt until it is parallel with the access door and firmly seated. Ⅲ. Maintenance

Objectives I.Building ability to deal with various problems raised in the field by reviewing troubleshooting. II.Check the solution of each problem. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution

1.Replace the toner cartridge and test again 2.Replace the toner cartridge and test again 3.Replace the PTB unit and test again 4.Replace the PTB unit or Cleaning the paper charge roller Printing Problems 1. Vertical Black Line and Band Description: 1. Straight thin black vertical lines occur in the printing 2. Dark black vertical bands occurs in the printing Check and CauseSolution 1.Damaged developer roller, deformed Doctor-blade or cleaning blade in the toner cartridge. 2.Scratched (Contaminated) surface of the charge roller in the toner cartridge. 3.Damaged Paper Transfer Belt (PTB) or contaminated on PTB. 4.Contaminated on Paper Charge Roller. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution

Printing Problems 2. Vertical White Line Description: White vertical voids in the image. Check and Cause 1.Clean the LSU window with recommended cleaner(IPA). Clean the window with a clean cotton swab. If dir is inside the LSU-replace LSU. 2.Replace the toner cartridge. 3.Replace the toner cartridge. Solution 1.Contamination of the window or internal lenses of LSU mirror. 2.Foreign object inside the toner cartridge. 3.Scratch of OPC Drum Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution

Printing Problems 3. Horizontal Bands Description: Dark or white horizontal stripes occur in the printing periodically (These may occurs at regular intervals down the page.) Check and Cause 1.Clean all HV terminals in the cartridge and on the set frame. Ensure all toner or paper dust, particles are removed.. 2.Replace the toner cartridge. 3.Replace the toner cartridge Solution 1.Bad contacts on the toner cartridge high voltage terminals. 2.The rollers in the toner cartridge may be contaminated 1)Charge roller – 26.7 mm 2)Supply roller – 41.0 mm 3)Develop roller – 32.5 mm (K) 30.6 mm (YMC) 4)Transfer roller – 43.9 mm (PTB inside) 5)Paper charge roller – 37.5 mm 6)OPC Drum – 75.4 mm 7)Fusing Belt – 127.0 mm 3.Contamination of the Gap- Ring - regular intervals 39.0mm Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution

Printing Problems 4. Black/White Spot Description: 1. Dark or white spots occur periodically in the printing Check and Cause 1.Replace the toner cartridge and test again 2.Replace the Fusing unit and test again Solution 1.OPC drum & rollers in the Developer, charger or Fuser may be damaged and contaminated with foreign matter or paper particles. 1)Charge roller – 26.7 mm 2)Develop roller –(K) 32.5 mm (YMC) 30.6 mm 3)Paper charge roller – 37.5 mm 4)OPC Drum – 75.4 mm 5)Fusing Belt – 127.0 mm Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution

Printing Problems 5. Dark image or Black Description: The printed image is dark. Check and Cause 1.Check the state if the connector which connects the engine board and HVPS.. 2.Clean the high voltage charge terminals. Solution 1.No charge voltage in the engine board. 2.Charge voltage fault due to bad contact between toner cartridge and set contacts. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution

Printing Problems 6. Uneven Density Description: Print Density is uneven between left and right. Check and Cause 1.Replace the PTB Unit 2.Replace the toner cartridge 3.Replace the toner cartridge 4.Replace the toner cartridge Solution 1.The pressure force in the left and right springs of the transfer roller is not even, the springs are damaged, the transfer roller is improperly installed 2.The life of the Toner Cartridge has expired. 3.The toner level is not even in the toner cartridge roller due to the damaged blade or low toner. 4. Inferior Toner Cartridge pressure spring force. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution

Printing Problems 7. Ghost Description: Ghost occur at 75.4mm intervals of the OPC drum or 30.6(YMC)/32,5(K)mm intervals of the developing roller in the whole Printing Check and Cause 1.Clean all HV contacts. If problem persist replace the HVPS. 2.Replace the toner cartridge 3.Check the PTB unit lifetime and replace it. 4.Replace the toner cartridge Solution 1.Bad contacts caused by contamination from toner particles between high voltage terminal in the main body and the one in the HVPS board 2.The life of toner cartridge is expired. 3.PTB unit life(50,000 sheets) has expired. 4.Damaged cleaning blade in the toner cartridge Ⅳ.
