Speak slowly and clearly Talk with a consistent pace Vary your pitch (do not speak in a monotone) Face your intended audience Think before speaking

Face your intended audience Make eye contact with PEOPLE when communicating animals may perceive it as a threat! Stand up straight, don’t slouch- show you’re confident! Maintain the comfort zone do not invade personal space of people OR animals its threatening to be in anyone (or anything’s) BUBBLE

Effective communication with clients Is the key to a good client base which leads to a successful practice TIPS: Always greet the client promptly and politely Try to assist clients in anyway possible Always have pen and paper ready to write important points of the conversation (dates, times, etc) Effective communication Good client base Successful practice

Effective communication is not just sending the proper message but listening effectively as well! TIPS: Concentrate on the message (don’t get distracted) Don’t interrupt Don’t take remarks personally Use non-verbal cues to understand message Maintain eye contact

Professional mannerisms will improve relations in any work place In most customer driven businesses the customer is ALWAYS right- and must be treated that way Any job interview YOU have in the future will be easier if you follow these key points. What kind of job would YOU like to have in the future? And how do you think these skills will help you get there?

1.Get into pairs (and one group of three) 2.You and your partner(s) will need to design a mock interview for a fake job (that you will pick out of a hat) 3.You and your partner will each write a job description then hand your description (and what you are looking for) to your partner 4.You will then have 6 minutes to prepare what you are going to ask your partner(s) as the interviewer and get ready to answer questions FROM your partner (as the interviewee)
